Only members get access to the members only area. You can become a member for free here

  • UK Women in Fisheries was built to bring women together to provide opportunities, support and advocacy, therefore membership is only available to women. While membership is only open to women, men are welcome to purchase our branded merchandise or make donations and to wear it with pride, to support us via social media channels, and are welcome to join our occasional public webinars open to all.

Mentoring

  • That’s fantastic! We aim to match all UK WIF members who would like to be a mentor with UK WIF members seeking mentoring. Sign up here

  • There are no specific prerequisites to receiving mentoring. To become a mentor you will likely be an experienced professional in your field.

We’ve put together a list of external resources that can support new mentors leading the mentoring relationship - Click here

We also have a dedicated FAQ page for Mentorship here

Partners

  • We only partner with organisations that share our vision and values. Find the partners that WIF works with here

  • For more information about our partnership structure, and to apply to become a WIF partner (of any level), please contact wifcoordinator@gmail.com

Jobs

  • That’s great news! Please contact wifcoordinator@gmail.com to arrange to advertise a job on the website. More information about advertising jobs is available here

  • Research shows that women hold back from applying for jobs if they don’t meet 100% of the criteria while men usually apply after meeting about 60%. There’s never any harm in applying for the job.

  • Us too! Organisations are only permitted to advertise job opportunities on the UK Women in Fisheries website if they demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting women (such as closing the gender pay gap, offering flexible working policies, ensuring equal opportunities, diverse leadership, and actively promoting inclusive and supportive workplace practices)

Events

  • Women in Fisheries aims to host a variety of online events throughout the years. These are sometimes open to all, and other times just to members. WIF members get an exclusive first-look at upcoming webinars and we’ll make it clear in our webinar posters whether its a members-only event, or open to all.

  • You’re welcome to share ‘open-to-all’ webinars with your audience. We simply ask that you do not share members-only events. These are clearly marked as either ‘open to all’ or ‘members-only’ on the poster and the event description.
