Why sign up?
Whether you’re an experienced professional wanting to share your expertise or someone newer to fisheries looking for support, this programme provides an incredible chance to connect, learn, and grow.
As a mentor, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in someone’s career. As a mentee, you’ll gain valuable guidance, insights, and a stronger support network.
What to Expect
Each mentor-mentee relationship in the UK Women in Fisheries Mentorship Matchmaking Program is designed with flexibility in mind. You and your mentor or mentee can tailor your interactions to fit your schedules and goals, whether that means regular text check-ins or structured video calls. While most relationships last around six months, the structure can be adapted to suit your unique needs.
As part of the program, you’ll also have access to helpful resources for guiding discussions, building connections, and tracking progress. After six months, we’ll invite you to complete a short reflection questionnaire to share your experience and insights for future program improvements. Remember to log your journey and capture a few photos along the way!
While we aim to match every mentee with a mentor, our pairings depend on having the right balance of members and skills at any given time. Rest assured, we’ll stay in touch and look for other ways to connect you with valuable opportunities within the network.
Ready to take your career to the next level?
We’ve put together some resources and guidelines to help you start, but you’re encouraged to make this journey uniquely yours.
And of course our Network Coordinator, Stephanie, is available via email if you need advice or support.
